I don't often do white space LOs, as it is my nature to cover EVERY square inch of paper with, what else but, more paper! But, for this snowy layout, white space was a natural. I used UHK Gallery's Monsieur Charles paper from the Flying Unicorn Store along with Creative Embellishments chipboard to create this wintery scene.
I wanted to use some white corrugated paper with my layout but I didn't have any. Not to worry, I made my own and its simple to do. Just tear off a piece of cardboard and spray on some water.
Then you can easily peel off the paper facing to reveal the corrugated paper. Let it dry and paint it white. Problem solved!
I used a Crafter's Warehouse mask to mask on some snowflakes. I wanted my snowflakes to have some texture and since I didn't have any "snow" paste, I made my own.
To make my snow, I mixed molding paste, white gesso and grit together so that I had a nice paste that I could trowel on. The molding paste was too stiff by itself so adding gesso gave it the perfect consistancy. I let it dry and then added touches of silver glitter paint and stickles to give it a nice snowy sparkle.
The snowflakes, "winter" word and the corner chippy are all from Creative Embellishments. To give your chipboard a snowy look, first paint it with white paint or gesso. Then paint on some silver glitter paint.
Now add some some icicle and crystal stickles.
I love the sparkly snowy effect!
After putting my layout together, I dry brushed white paint over everything including the flowers and ribbon to give everything a fresh snowfall effect. I also added stickles to the flower and ribbon.
