Graphic 45's City Scapes Collection

I am so over the moon excited that I get to spend another year on the Graphic 45 design team!  It is definitely a dream come true to work with all their wonderful products.

Today I want to share a layout done with Graphic 45's new City Scapes collection.  This is a photo of my parents taken shortly after my Dad returned from Paris and WW II  so I chose  to use the Eiffel Tower cut-apart for that reason.  The city names all around the border represent many of the places that my family traveled with Dad and the stamp paper represents the many letters he wrote to my Mom when he was posted to places where she could not accompany him.  I love it when I can include symbolism in my layouts that have special meaning to me.

The City Scapes collection is currently available at the Flying Unicorn Store

I used two different Creative Embellishments flourishes with my Petaloo flowers.  I misted them with Lindy's mist for an antique look.  The title is heat embossed with Stampendous aged embossing enamel in aged spice.

Petaloo flowers and Mother's Day cards.

Hi Petaloo friends!  Maggi here with a couple of Mother's Day cards for you.   Whenever I make something for my Mother I am reminded of being a small child and how she always proudly displayed my things.  Now, I am really amused that it makes me so happy  that she still displays the things I make her all around the house, just as she did when I was a child.  My Mom is the best and I'm so lucky that she is still going strong at 94!

I made this first card with flowers from our burlap collection and  Authentique's Utopia collection.   Love how these bright pink blooms go so well with the papers.

I nestled a cord bow from our Fancy Trims line underneath my flowers.  I think it adds a
 nice festive touch!

Here you can see the "step" in the card.  These are my favorite cards to make 'cause I love how the stand up so nicely.  Here's a link to a template for this card, if you'd like to make one yourself.

Petaloo Supplies:

Bundle 6 x 6 paper pad
Rejuvenate 12 x 12 paper

Other supplies:
Ivory cardstock

I made this card from Graphic 45's Children's Hour collection and dressed it up with Petaloo burlap and velvet blooms..  The Mom is this image sure has a lap full of kids!  Reminds me of both my grandmothers as they had 7 and 8 children.  I can't imagine, LOL!!

I like to nestle hydrangeas underneath larger blooms. They are great for filling in tiny spaces.

Petaloo Supplies:

Ephemera Card 4501259
May Collective 4501230
Patterns and Solids Paper Pad 6 x 6

Here's a pretty tag to put on that special present for Mom.  I combined Botanica blooms, dogwoods and some fussy cut elements from Graphic 45's Time to Flourish collection to make this tag.  The wide strip of pink burlap is from Petaloo's Fancy Trims that come in oh so many fun colors.  Be sure to see all the colors.

Let's Recycle in Honor of Earth Day with Graphic 45

I am loving G45's new DIY Craft Paper!  It is perfect for your home projects because it is a big sheet of paper and wraps all the way around without having to piece your paper.  Yay!  If I am not scrapping, I am cooking, so it's a natural that I create things for the kitchen.  To celebrate Earth Day I created a kitchen utensil holder from a used Pepperidge Farms Pirouette cookie tin in my favorite color, red.

This would make a great gift for a wedding shower;  just add a few kitchen utensils and,  voilà, a beautiful handmade gift.

Tip:  Use matte medium to protect, and strengthen your handmade items that you'll be using everyday.  And for those fabric flowers?   Just spray them with a little Staingard.

I used a combination of fussy cut paper flowers and Petaloo Botanica blooms to embellish my tin.

Take a look at my Snapguide to see how easy this project is.  You can do this in just a couple of hours.

Petaloo and Authentique join together for a fabulous bloghop!

I love when we get to bloghop with other manufacturers and this month Petaloo and Authentique are bloghopping together.  I love how Petaloo's gorgeous blooms coordinate so nicely with Authentique's new Utopia collection.  Be sure to stop by both the Petaloo  and Authentique blogs for a chance to win some great prizes!

I used a Creative Embellishments chipboard frame to really focus on my cutie pie great niece and then used lots of layers from the Utopia collection to make it pop and finished it off with two great Petaloo floral clusters.  I added fussy cut leaves, also from the Authentique papers, to give my clusters the perfect finish.  The bow is tied from Petaloo trims and I love how it looks with the flower layers!

Petaloo's dogwoods layer so nicely around and under other flowers.

Isn't this quote just perfect for my photo?
