Feb project G45 Nature Sketchbook tag mini

My love affair with Nature Sketchbook continues!  Today I have a really fun Tag & Policy Envelope Mini Snapguide tutorial to share with you.  The mini has interactive pages and hidden tags and best of all, you can put this together in less than a day so that makes it even better!

Tips:  Save your scraps, they are great for minis.  Those little strips that you cut off here and there are great for embellishing tags and mini pages.  No scrap is too small!  Don't be afraid to hang things off the page, it will add a fun visual element to your project.

Cheery Lynn Designs and Portrait of a Lady

Today I have a tag for you that I think would be perfect to add to a bottle of wine and gift to a girlfriend that needs a little cheering up.  I love the sentiment that comes from Graphic 45's new Portrait of a Lady collection.

I've used some dies from the new release of Cheery Lynn Designs Bohemian Dies.  Down the center I've used  the Indie Border Die from the Bohemian collection.  I love how the design paper underneath peeks through the cut outs.

I added several layers in the center starting with Nesting Doll- Circles #2.  That makes a really great background for the  Mandala Doily 2  layer, also from the Bohemian collection.  The sentiment was diecut from design paper with a die from the Pierced Stacker 2 6 Piece Die Set.
Of course the tag has to be finished off with some flowers!  The large flower was made with the Floral Bouquet Kit 8 Piece Die Set.  The other flowers are roses made with the medium and large rose die sets.  A seam binding bow at the top and a organza trim around the edges are the perfect finishing accents for this feminine tag.

A Ginormous Tag with Nature Sketchbook!

Today I decided to do something just for me, not for any DT's, just something I wanted to do.  This is the result!

While at Creativation in Phoenix, I  totally fell in love with these ginormous Tim Holtz tags.  This gal loves to make tags and what more could a tag love want but a ginormous tag??  Had to have them as soon as I got back home and I found them at the Funkie Junkie Boutique.  I used the middle size to make my tag which is about 6.5" x 12".

I will confess that I also fell in love with Tim's Distress Oxide inks and I started this tag by creating a background with the oxide inks, but that just wasn't the bright effect I was looking for so I grabbed up a piece of red burlap.

It probably doesn't get a lot brighter than this red burlap and yellow trim!  😄

Of course I turned to my new favorite Graphic 45 collection, Nature Sketchbook to fussy cut this bright spring image.  Here in North Carolina we are currently having temps in the high 70's and even 80's.  I am so ready for spring now!

Some pretty Petaloo burlap blooms complete my tag.

I am entering my tag in the Frilly and Funky Out of the Cold challenge.  Details about the challenge here.  I'm ready for spring and I think these  bright colors sure tell that story!

Thanks for stopping by, I sure appreciate it!

Creativity is Contagious with Graphic 45!

Today I'm sharing a canvas I made from the new Midnight Masquerade collection to hang in my studio. I love sharing my art with others and I hope that I inspire you, so I find this to be a perfect quote, "Creativity is Contagious, Pass it On."

I fussy cut a lot of pieces for this canvas and used a lot of foam to pop up the pieces. Instead of using commercial flowers, I fussy cut some of the great flowers in this collection to use as embellishments.
The creativity quote is a piece from Creative Embellishments.  I heat embossed it with embossing enamel and powder.

Tip: Pull out your Stickles and add some sparkle to your project. Midnight Masquerade is the perfect collection for this. I added little dabs of Stickles in the flower centers and on the green letters. Too bad the camera doesn't pick up that sparkle but its there and it's a great subtle enhancement.

Creative Embellishments canvas with G45 Vintage Hollywood

I love this photo of my husband driving his 48 Ford convertible just after he got the engine up and running.  I thought that Graphic 45's new collection, Vintage Hollywood, would work in a great fun way with this photo, and I love how it came out.

To begin the canvas, I tore some strips of design paper and glued to the canvas.  Then I used black modeling paste to stencil on some grungy spots.  They look kinda  like grease spots, perfect!  After that dried I misted with Lindy's in different colors and added some orange paint splotches.

Recently, Nicolle added these really fun Washi Tape Clusters to the Creative Embellishments store and I am just nuts about them.  I painted the stars with gold paint and lightly stained the "washi tape" with brown mist.

I used pieces from the Car Part Set, they're perfect for this canvas.  I colored them with gold mist so that the etchings in the chipboard would remain visible.

I created lots of dimension by popping up various elements of my design with foam tape and cardboard.  The fun florals are fussy cuts from the Graphic 45 Vintage Hollywood design paper.

There is a Infinite Circle Frame hiding under the car, it's painted black and is peeking out here and there.

Other Supplies:
Graphic 45 Vintage Holly design paper
Studio 490 Embossing Paste
Prima Junkyard Findings key

Be sure to stop by the store and see what Nicolle's been creating, she is always adding new designs.  And don't forget our monthly challenge, you could win a $50 gift certificate.  Details on the challenge can be found in the first post on the blog every month.

My Sweet Furbabies

Today I'm sharing a layout I did of my sweet furbabies, Nika and Tisha.  They love each other so much and they're always together, sleeping, playing or begging!  🐩 😍

While I was at Creativation in Phoenix I stopped by the Fabscraps booth and visited with Bea and Cait.  Knowing that they are dog lovers like me, I showed them this sweet photo and  they said you and must scrap this photo with our new collection, Lavender Breeze.  And WOW, it worked so perfectly with my photo!

Even better, Petaloo's Briar Roses look fabulous with this collection.  I tucked in some Cheery Lynn Designs diecuts to finish off my clusters.

These hearts are diecuts that are included in the collection and I thought they looked really great nestled in with my Petaloo blooms.

Petaloo Supplies:
Craft Trim - purple
Mixed Texture Mini blossoms lavender

Other:
Fabscrap Lavender Breeze paper collection
Cheery Lynn Designs Flourish #7
Lindy's Gator Gumbo Olive Starburst Mist

Thanks for visiting me and the poodles on my blog today!

A card with Cheery Lynn Designs and Maja

Love love love this image from Maja Designs Summertime collection. It is just perfect to dress up with some Cheery Lynn Designs die cuts!
I started with a white card base (4 3/4" x 6") and topped that with a pretty floral print diecut with Royal Scandinavian Boutique Stacker A2 Frame 4 Piece Die Set.  Then I added a pretty dotted scalloped layer cut with A2 Frames Rectangular Scalloped 7 Piece Die Set.

Of course for this sweet feminine card, I need flowers so I made a rose with the Medium- Rose 7 Piece Die Set.  I love that die set because it cuts all the pieces you need to make a flower at once.  The larger flower is made with the Judy's Blooms Die.   I cut some flourishes with Flourish #11 Die and tucked pieces of that around my flowers.  I cut a tiny tag for my sentiment using the smallest die from the Pierced Stacker 2 - 6 Piece Die Set.

Then, a cheerful seam binding bow, just sets it all off.

This was really a quick and simple card to make, just diecut a couple layers, stamp and sentiment and make a couple flowers.  Easy peasy!  Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate the time you take to visit.

Petaloo Loves Pets - Save Them All

Petaloo loves pets and an organization that is dear to our hearts is Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.  I made this canvas thinking about them and the good works they do saving animals all over the US.

I used Tim Holtz's Crazy Dogs and Crazy Things stamp sets and coordinating dies to make all these silly pups.  They are just so fun and of course while I was working away, some of them acquired names.  Ha, that dachshund there at the bottom is Kiki, named after a friend's pup.

And that cute little pink bull dog, why that's Petunia, she's been a project star before.  I just adore her.  Isn't she so chic in her shades?

I really don't know why Tim didn't have a poodle in his crazy dog collection so I had to make my own, she's not too crazy but she's a cutie nestled in there with those mini Darjeeling flowers.

Creative Embellishments has some great flair that I used on this canvas.

Petunia has a couple of cousins hanging out on the canvas today, 😊, Spike and Fred.

Did you know that Darjeeling flowers are paintable?  I painted some of these the same color as the Creative Embellishments scribble heart.

Beauty Layout Portrait of a Lady

The Portrait of a Lady collection is everything that defines grace and beauty.  The pinks and greens of this collection  are so beautiful, and the vintage images so dreamy, well,  I had  to do a layout featuring the elegant lady on the signature page.  You can go wild with flowers on this collection too!  Tip:  Fussy cut some of the gorgeous roses in the collection and nestle them in among 3D flowers for a dynamic floral cluster.
