Creative Embellishments Camp Life Layout

This was a fun layout for me as I dug into some really old supplies AND the subject is one of my favorites, camping in Alaska!

I used Stamperia's Forest pape collection and this particular page just speaks to me.  I think it's my favorite sheet of paper ever!  It so reminds me of Denali National Park.  The campground (pictured above) we stayed at, is not too far from Denali so, yeah, it all works together!

I used a chipboard moose and covered all but his antlers with adhesive.  I dug way back into a drawer and found some brown flocking and that just worked perfect to give him a nice fur coat!

I applied fiber paste to these chipboard trees and let it dry.  They I inked the trees with Oxide inks and misted between coats.  Finally I misted leavily with Lindy's mists to get the color effect I wanted.

The chipboard title is covered with truffle embossing powder and heated.

Using Unconventional Materials to Make Journals for Eileen Hull Designs

Good morning friends, I have a fun project to share with you today.  This month Eileen Hull's designers are creating with unconventional products.  I chose to make a Passport Book.  Can you guess what I used for my cover?

I used plastic packaging, you know, that stuff we usually throw away!  This is simple; all you need is an embossing folder, plastic, cardstock and matboard (or chipboard).  First I cut the plastic down to size and ran it through my die-cut machine with an embossing folder.  Next I die-cut the embossed piece with the Passport Book die.

Then I adhered black cardstock to matboard and ran that through my diecut machine using the Passport Book die.  I applied adhesive to the black cardstock and adhered the plastic embossed piece to it.  I found that I got the best embossed impression by embossing the plastic without being adhered to anything else.

Now that you have the 3 parts (platstic, cardstock and matboard) assembled, its time for some fun!  I used new products from Sizzix, Luster Wax, to color the plastic.  You just rub it on with your finger.  I blended two colors, rose gold and gold.  It is permanent once dry, and doesn't come off on your fingers.

I waited a few minutes for it to dry and then misted heavily (like allover!) with black ink so that the ink could fill in the crevices and really give the embossed impression definition.  Use a paper towel to blot up the ink

I love the look of the Luster Wax on the covers of this Passport Book!

Inside the book, I used Eileen's new Bookbinding Die to attach pages inside.  This die creates 5 hinges to which you attach your pages.  I just made some simple pages to go inside.

Getting Really Bright with the May Creative Embellishments Challenge!

Time for a new challenge and I loved this one.  The moment I saw the inspiration photo, I knew exactly what paper and chippy I was using!  The twist is to repeat a pattern.

I didn't have a photo that worked with my Graphic 45 Kaleidoscope papers so I decided to do an inspiration piece using an ephemera card. My repeated pattern is the elephant background paper and the elephant chippy.

I adore Creative Embellishments' Elephant Border.  I painted them grey with chalk board paint.  Then I thought they'd be cute with floral collars. Tiny flowers from Little Birdie did the trick!

As usual, I needed some flowers to complete my look.  I used large corner flourishes underneath the flowers.  I painted the flourishes orange and then misted with a bright flourescent mist from Lindy's.

I can't wait to see your take on the inspiration photo!

Eileen Hull’s New Travel Trailer Die

I am loving this adorable tretro camper that Eileen designed!  I decided to put a really feminie spin on it and made it pink!

I used a fun new product from Sizzix, Decorative Foil Sheets, to make the silver part of the camper.  I can see lots of possbilities with this and I'll try to get a tutorial for you soon.  In the meantime, all I did, was cut an adhesive sheet to size, then I just adhered the foil sheet to the adhesive, ran it through my machine with an embossing folder and then die-cut.  Couln't be easier!

The inside is perfect for holding lots of things, I put my motorhome keys in it!  But it could hold a small gift for a camping friend, and then, there's always chocolate, right?

Little bits of lace and of course a flower, complete this feminine look!

Spellbinders' Wistful Window Etched Dies from Stained Glass Bouquet Collection by Becca Feeken

It's no secret that I love to make tags, especially large tags!  I've used two great die sets by Becca Feeken to fashion this frilly tag.

Wistful Window Etched Dies from Stained Glass Bouquet Collection

The window frames included in this set worked so well with the large (5.5" x 10") Creative Embellishments tag that I used for the base.  I framed up a cut-apart from the Graphic 45 Elegance Collection.  Wouldn't this make a nice accent piece is a frilly pink powder room?

In this closeup you can really see the pretty details in the window frames.  There are a lot of possibilities for this die, you could back the frame with colored papers and make a stained glass window.

Along with the Wistful Window die, I used the fans and leaves from the Transom die set to add greenery to my tag.

I die cut leaves to use around the flowers.  I love that the die set comes with a cut out leaf to layer over the basic leaf to give the leaves vein details.  I also added some Lindy's mist to the leaves so they would sparkle and have dimensional color.

I tucked a couple of the fans at the top, just because I thought they were pretty!

Thanks for visiting!!

Spellbinders Stained Glass Collection - Fan Flower Transom by Becca Feeken

I am so excited that Spellbinders invited me to create with some of their great dies!  I have chosen dies from Becca Feeken's Stained Glass Bouquet for my first projects.

I used this great die set to make a layout with Graphic 45's Dreamland Collection.  I know, you might look at this die set and think card, but, think outside the box!  How about using it to frame up a photo on a layout?

I die-cut two transoms and placed one at the top and one at the bottom to frame up my photo.  I think it makes a great frame look and draws the eye to the photo.

The die set also includes leaf and fan shapes. I backed the center with a fan die cut to add some interest and contrasting color to the transom.  To finish it off, I added a Creative Embellishments chipboard work title heat embossed with Stampendous Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel.

Thanks for visiting me today, I appreciate it so much!

Layout for Creative Embellishments

Hi friends!   There's nothing in the world like friends and I am sure missing my scrappy buddies!  Because of Covid we missed our annual get-together last year.  We are really looking forward to our reunion this year!

So, I thought a page remembering some good times was in order.  I used some delightful chippies from Creative Embellishments and Carta Bella Farmhouse Market papers to make up this layout.

I love using chipboard flourishes under my flowers and I've used 2 different ones here.  I used two colors of embossing enamel to color these.  First I used a base coat of Aged Green, after that cooled I added some Shabby Green randomly over top the Aged Green.  I think it's a great effect!

The title is just one coat of Aged Green Embossing Enamel.  There's nothing like true friends, they are our earth angels aren't they?

You should have come here from Sue Eldred's blog.  If not take a look at the list at the bottom of this post and go back to Eileen's blog to start the hop.

Take a look at these great new dies from Eileen!

This is my favorite release by far!!  Why?  Well I just love the versatile Bookbinding Die as it allows you to make gorgeous journals without using elastic.  I love the way the pages fit when pages are attached to an insert.  Be sure to watch the release party video so you can see what I'm talking about.

I used the perfectly sized Pocket Notebook to make this spring journal.  The pape is Carta Bella Farmhouse Market.  I love its spring colors!

I  started my project by making the covers with cardstock.  That way I didn't have to worry about patterns and all that!  Then I layered up the front cover with design papers, ephemera, and of course, handmade flowers!  (Here's a link to the playback of a FAcebook Live I did showing how to make flowers.)

I took a thin piece of chipboard, covered it with design paper, and adhered it to the  spine so that the overlapping book spines don't show.  I think that gives the book a really finished look.

The inside is just a really pretty explosion of color across my pages.

On the right side you can see a waterfall page I made with Eileen's new Card, Waterfall and Tags Thinlets set.  I love having a die to cut my pages so that I don't have to worry about getting the pages all sized just right.

Here you can see a tag I made with the same waterfall die set.  The tag is the perfect size to use in all of Eileen's journals.  AND the cool thing is that the tag is a set of 3!  This is the largest of the 3.

I just be you're going to love these dies as much as I do!  Here's a list of everything I used to make this journal.

Simple Layout for Creative Embellishments

I'm back with another simple layout using Creative Embellishments chipboard to give my layout a little pizazz!   This is an 8 x 8" layout so there's not a lot of extra room for embellies.  I like using collaged photos on these smaller layouts..  Here I've use 5 photos to show how this sweet baby is growing!

I used 2 page corners heat embossed with my favorite embossing enamel, Stampendous Aged Ivory over some simple layered papers.

I used two words from the Girl Word Set for my title, again heat embossed.  These words are a great size for titles.

Pretty page corners draw the eye to the photos.
