More March kit creations with the Flying Unicorn KOM!!

Hi, I'm back with more layouts from the Flying Unicorn March KOM to share with you.

I'm still working on the wedding album for my niece. She has so many lovely photos from the event, I may be scrapping them for the rest of my life! Here's the wedding party at the reception.

I used Kaisercraft's Marigold collection from the KOM for this layout and just layered up those beautiful papers! I love EK Success punches and used the Flower Burst punch to anchor my horizontal floral clusters. McGill has a really pretty flower punch, Floriano, that I use all the time and I used it here to make the two large flowers that have been colored with Viva 3D Lime Green metallic paint. The small blue flowers are from the kit, the white fabric ribbon flowers and pink rosebuds are from my stash

The sweet little bird and house are ScrapFx chippies (from my stash) and are painted with Viva Inka Gold in hermatitie, greeen-yellow and old silver. The beautiful bling heart on the right is a Flying Unicorn Adornment, I just can't say enough about how beautiful the new Unicorn metals are!

This is a small alligator that we saw in the swamps outside of New Orleans. For this page I used a mini fern mask and Viva 3D paint in moss green to stencil on the fern leaves. I also sprayed alot of Lindy's here and there on the background. I used Red Hot Poker Orange, Cattail Copper Brown, and Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist. Then I used a leaf stamp and bird stamp from a prior kit.

The one paper leaf came in the kit and I sprayed it with Goosebumps Shimmer Texture to give it texture and strength. I used Lindy's California Poppy Gold and Ponderosa Pines applied to the back of the leaf for color. LOL, that was kind of a mistake that turned out to look nice. The Goosebumps creates a resist and I stupidly applied it before I had colored the leaf sooooo... had to soak it in from the backside. I love the effect actually!

The letters are really old, probably purchased in 2005! The large red flower is from my stash, one of my favorite Petaloo Darjeeling flowers. I added the branches and moss for a natural touch, also from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!!

  2. I see your work over at Flying Unicorn Maggi, but it's so nice to take the time to come to your blog and see everything close up. I have enjoyed re-reading how you made all your beautiful embellishments and hearing all about the products you used. I absolutely LOVE the way you design and pull your layouts together. Always beautiful!
