Flying Unicorn Teresa Collins

We're featuring Teresa Collins papers for the rest of the month and best of all they are on sale - 30% the rest of June!
Ok, I just love this paper, first of all it is such a nice heavy weight paper and the colors are so rich, the blues and greens I have used in this layout are really gorgeous.  I've used the Teresa Collins Fabrications Canvas collection for this layout.

This is a photo of an endangered wood stork that I captured in flight while we were in the Florida Everglades this past winter.  I love the image of the bird but you know, the surroundings are kind of dull so I thought I would bring the "swamp" to my photo by adding Dusty Attic chippy's , ferns and some great Prima and Petaloo flowers.

The chippys are stained with Lindy's Gator Gumbo Olive (ha ha, perfect for a photo of the Everglades!) except for the flower heads.  Those were first painted with white gesso, then Banana Pudding Glimmer Mist.  Then I sprinkled with banana colored flocking that I got at Michaels.  Using a technique I learned when I was modeling scenery for our N guage model railroad, I used Elmer's glue watered down at a ratio of 1 part glue to 10 parts water to glue the flocking to the chipboard.  When I tried using straight glue, I ended up with a clumpy mess so that's why I went to the watered down Elmers.  The little bits of fern came from a floral department somewhere.  I love how the embellies sort of meld into the photo.

The green flowers are Petaloo Darjeeling collection and the yellow are Prima Wild Wood Saffron, both available from the Flying Unicorn Store.

Thanks for visiting with me today!
