Hey ya'll! That's how we greet everyone in the south! So today, I have a fun layout that I did with the just released September Flying Unicorn kit and some fabby Creative Embellishments chippies and a great grunge stamp! I've used new Prima Rossibelle papers for this layout.
I started out by stamping all around the edge with the Burlap stamp. Then I layered some papers under my photo. That cute little bird is from the Birds set. I just misted him. I didn't want him to stand out, I just wanted him to be quietly perched there on the flower!
Next came the really fun Brick Pieces. I gave those a light misting with Lindy's Crow's Nest Copper Moonshadow Mist.
I used two different word borders. I also gave these a quick misting with the same Lindy's mist.
Of course, my layouts are not complete until I add lots of pretty blooms. I've mixed flowers from the Flying Unicorn September kit with Petaloo flowers from my stash.
Thanks for joining me today! Hurry over to the Flying Unicorn Store if you want a September kit and be sure to stop by Creative Embellishments often. Lots of new designs are always being added!
I've given new life to an old
curio cabinet that has been laying around the house forever by using the new
Graphic 45 DIY craft papers. Love that
these papers are large (19.5" x
27") and therefore, suitable for your larger projects! The paper is double sided and is flexible
making it great for wrapping around corners and such!
I'm going to use this cabinet
to store little bottles and pots and so, I've purposely kept it quite
simple. I don't want a lot of
embellishments taking up valuable storage space!
Tip: Be sure you have a sharp blade in your craft
knife when you're making little cuts as I did in this video AND be careful!
When using matte medium, Mod
Podge, or similar products, be sure to coat both the surface you're covering
and you paper with medium so that you get a really good seal and no air
bubbles. Use a brayer, rolling from the center
outward, to smooth out your paper and eliminate air pockets.

Here's a look at the original cabinet before it's facelift.
I used a Prima mold to make the centerpiece and two G45 keys on either side for my simple top embellishment.
I was feeling quite silly the other day and this is the result! I truly adore these crazy dog stamps, they are ever so much fun. while I was making this, I gave the dogs names. Ha ha, that bulldog, well she's Petunia. And below her is Fredrick, and then Poindexter and finally, Othello. Now don't ask me how I came up with those names, it just happened!
I used a Prima icon tray that came in the August Flying Unicorn kit to make this dog house condo. The tray was just perfect. I made a roof from chipboard and affixed to the top. I used water colors from a previous Unicorn kit to color these little sweeties and diecut vines and Petaloo flowers. You can easily do this just using bits and pieces from you stash.
I put together a Snapguide tutorial so you can see how I built the roof.
There will be a limited supply of September Flying Unicorn Kits available on reveal day, August 31, 2016. To ensure that you always get a kit, order you kit early, details here.
Hi everyone out there in cyberspace! Today I'm sharing a fun gift idea for college bound students; it's a survival kit filled with little things that students will inevitably find themselves needing.
Of course, you need a pretty box to house those survival items so I've repurposed an old candy box by covering it with Graphic 45's DIY craft paper and design paper from their Artisan Style collection. This is the perfect backdrop for my gorgeous Petaloo blooms!
Inside the box.
Ideas for filling the box: stamps, envelopes, highlighters, pens, pencils, tape, index tabs, paperclips, toiletries in travel sizes like toothpaste, mouthwash, Advil or Tylenol, shampoo, conditioner, nail polish remover pads, deodorant, mousse, hairspray, hair ties, styling gel, the list goes on and on.
I made a pocket on the inside lid where you can tuck the most important item of all, cash, a gift or credit card.
I adore Petaloo's berry picks and love how they add so much to my floral clusters.
I'm sure that any college bound kid would appreciate a gift like this because it's all so useful. Travel size toiletries are great for quick weekend trips with a suite mate and desk supplies are always needed!
