Banners are such a fun party decoration that can be personalized with a name or occasion. I made this one for a baby shower and used both pink and blue for fun! You can make one for any occasion, take a look at my tutorial below and you'll see how easy it is.
I used Eileen Hull Design's by Sizzix
Thinlits Die Set 9PK - House/Pocket Stitchlits to make each of the banners. The house die is the perfect size for banner making and turned upside down, well, it's perfect!
I cut the BABY letters on my Cameo and they are about 3" tall. The paper I used is from Graphic 45, it's the much loved Little Darlings DCE set.
Supplies:
Graphic 45 Little Darlings DCE
Hug Snug Seam Binding
Adhesive of choice
Tutorial
Step 1:
Die cut one of each pocket and house for each letter in your banner as shown in the photo. I die cut 4 of each since there are 4 letters in my word, baby. Ink the edges of each die cut as desired.
Step 2:
Carefully cut through the center of the holes on the pocket so that you create a postage stamp edge effect. Then adhere the pocket to the house as shown in the photo. (On the left side you can see the edge before I cut through the centers of the holes.)
Step 3:
Next layer on your letters. Once we adhere the banners to the ribbon we'll add all the embellishments.
Step 4:
Cut a tag to go between each of the banners using the
Bookmark, Tag & Pocket set. (I only used 3 on my banner.) Cut some hearts with the heart die included in the
House/Pocket Stitchlits set. Turn the tags upside down and adhere a heart to each.
Step 5:
Now we're ready to put it all together. Layout the banners with the tags between them and then take enough ribbon to string all the banners and tags and leave extra at each end. You can use most anything to string your banner, but I suggest something on the strong side. I used a twill ribbon. Use a strong glue (I used hot glue) to adhere the banners and tags to the ribbon. You could also staple the banners onto the ribbon and cover the staples with embellishments. Then, embellish with lots of flowers, ribbons, tags, you imagination is the only limit!
