Greetings from the south. Hey, it's fall ya'll! It doesn't feel like it just yet but I am hopeful that summer is on it's way out. I don't like hot weather and I'm celebrating with this all occasion fall themed easel card. I love using diecut shapes for the easel portion of my card and on this card I used the French Flair Pierce And Cut Tool .
One of my favorite recent additions to the Creative Embellishments store, is the Large Tags set. They are the perfect size (5.5" x 10") for creating little pieces of art. The French theme is carried out with Photo Play's French Flea Market collection, and of course an Eiffel Tower chippy from Creative Embellishments. Continuing with the French theme, I added a cute poodle as poodles are often, erroneously, called french poodles. They are in fact, just poodles, toy, miniature or standard poodles. There's no french in the name.
The Eiffel Tower chipboard piece is a great 3" x 6". I used Stampendous Shabby Chic pink embossing enamel to finish off the tower.
I really love the Rose Flourish on the right side of that tag. It's so pretty cascading from the pretty pink Petaloo flowers. I painted te flourish with water colors. I like to use thin paints so that the etching in the chipboard doesn't fill with paint and disappear.
At the bottom I used a flourish from the Leafy Corner Flourish Set and it's colored with Lindy's mists.
I always like to pop up elements on my tags. I think that really adds to the depth and dimension of the tag that really creates a really appealing look.
Thanks for stopping by today. September is Creative Embellishment's birthday month and we're celebrating with a 20% off sale so be sure to stop by the store before the sale is over!
Ahhh, my favorite subject, dogs! For me it's true, all you REALLY need is love and a dog. In my case 2 dogs! This is the cover for a mini album and I know the recipient is going to love it! I used lots of Cheery Lynn Designs dies to give my cover a great look. At the top and bottom I used the Lady Kate Edger die to give the entire page a framed look.
I used two different dies, Fiona's Magic Window and A2 Scalloped Frames, to make layers behind the title so that it would really stand out. Of course I needed some flowers to dress it up so I used the
Black Eyed Susan and Floral Bouquet Kit to make my pretty red blooms. I especially love the center of the larger flower that is part of the Black Eyed Susan die set. it can be used with so many different flower dies too!
Isn't this little dog house the best? It's part of the Pet Pack 11 Piece Die Set . It has so much detail!

One of my favorite holidays is Thanksgiving. It's such a wonderful family time and always a time that we thank the good Lord for all that we have. Here's a Thanksgiving card to celebrate the coming holiday.
This card is simple but effective. It's all about layers of patterned paper and pretty diecuts to accent the Thanksgiving Greeting in the center of the card. I cut two different size layers with the Coved Rectangle Stitch And Cut Tool. I used the Dusty Miller Square to make the greeting really stand out.
The inside is finished with a couple of layers and a plain cardstock sheet where you can write a message.
Remember, there is a $20 Cheery Lynn gift certificate prize to be won by some lucky person! It is awarded randomly to a lucky comment who answers one or more of the questions on the Cheery Lynn blog. Today I'm sharing a favorite project using lots of fun chippies and embellies from Creative Embellishments and one of my favorite paper collections from Graphic 45, Raining Cats & Dogs.
I combined chipboard and wood veneers pieces, a flair button and lots of pretty flowers to make this fun mini album cover.
I used the Puppy Love Word Set for my title and heat embossed it with aged copper embossing enamel.
Near the bottom I used the Showered with Love Border. If you know me at all, you know that I am owned by two beautiful furbabies and you know they are my loves. This Love Border is just great to express that love.
Flair is always fun to tuck in to a floral cluster. This button is from the Happy Tails Flair set.
The dog silhouette and paw print are from the Dog Gone Cute set. I painted them with a little mist to give them a deep brown color.
I love to make easel cards but I like to give them a twist by giving the front a nice shape like this scalloped oval. I used Cheery Lynn'sOval Scalloped LG Stackers Nesting Dies 6 Piece Die Set
to do that. The scalloped front of the card looks so nice sitting on the rectangle base.
I used Photoplay papers and ephemera from the French Flea Market collection to make this card. You know the connection...Paris...fashion, perfect collection to use with the Antique Dress Forms dies from the recently released Veriloquent Vintage Collection.
Next I added the Polynesian Sails Oval Die to add a pretty doily effect. Then I tucked in some ephemera, the bird cage and "enjoy today" card from the paper collection.
Here it is September, can you believe it? Time for another Creative Embellishments challenge and time for the kids to go back to school. Here's the inspiration photo for this month's challenge. The twist this month is to use stamping on the background.
I made another traveler's journal as my inspiration for the challenge and I used Creative Embellishments'Distressed Brick Stamp on the background of the cover. I was inspired by the artsy look of the inspiration photo and of course the numbers remind me of back to school time, so this is more of an art journal to gift to a young budding artist.
The cover was cut with Eileen Hull's journal die from Sizzix and then covered with Prima paper that I can't remember the name of. 😃 Then for the front cover, I added a 2nd layer of paper that I distressed and inked. I used the Metal Stencil mask and Prima Vintage Gold Metallique wax underneath the artist's stand. I really didn't like how the wax worked for stenciling so I only did that liitle bit. I switched over to the Distressed Brick Stamp and liked that much better!
I used the chipboard Rose Leave Spray to trailing down the cover and topped it off with a couple of flowers.
I love the little chipboard artist's easel from the Artist Create Collection! I colored it by rubbing on various colors of Prima wax. In the center and at the top left, I've used Creative Embellishments flair buttons from the Art set. The flair buttons have such a pretty bright white background, but, for my purpose I needed a vintage look, so I just dabbed on some alcohol ink to age them a bit. That worked fantastically!
These are the 3 inserts I made to go inside the journal. You can see the inside details by viewing my video flip through.
Here are photos from one of the insert signatures. Another of the signatures contains mixed media paper for art journaling and the last signature contains lined note paper for writing.
I made a Prima Julie Nutting doll and her poodle.
I made this signature with Prima paper and just added some rub-on flourishes in the corners.
