More projects with the Dec Swirlydoos Kit Club kit.

It's time to bid 2014 a fond adieu!  Can you believe that when you wake up tomorrow it will be 2015?  Seriously, it seems like January 2014, t was just the other day.  I want to wish everyone a very safe and happy new year.  I hope that 2015 is a great year for you!

The Swirlydoos December kit was filled with gorgeous papers from Bo Bunny's Rose Cafe collection. Here I've  layered some scraps under the photo and added some journal pieces from the Rose Cafe collection Noteworthy Journal cards at the bottom of the photo.

I made the flowers using the Prima beads from the kit and Diamond Dust and stamen from my stash. I'll have a video tute on January 3rd to show you how to make these simple flowers.

Supplies:
Patterned paper:  Bo Bunny Rose Cafe collection:  Pink background - Rose Cafe,  brown and floral under photo - Espresso,  Rose Cafe Noteworthy Journaling cards
Diecuts and punches:  Alterations Tattered Floral, Martha Stewart Flourish Lace
Flowers:   handmade
Mist:  Lindy's Starburst Cosmopolitan Pink
Masks:  Prima Decor 1 & 2
Masking paste: 13 Arts  Ayeeda white gesso
Paint:      white
Other:  Diamond Dust, Prima beads, Darice stamen

I created the background on this layout by first tearing off a little strip of paper all along the edges of Bo Bunny's French Roast paper.  Then I inked and furthered distressed the edges a bit.  Next I stamped randomly with Mixed Media stamps and Stazon silver ink.  Then I did some masking in the upper right corner with a Prima Decor mask and Shimmerz Texturez.  I pressed some beads into the masking paste before it dried.  For a final touch to my background, I sprayed on some Shimmerzing Goldie Lox.  That just gives an overall shimmer to my background without adding much color.

I added a piece of cardstock to the back of my layout and I've used embossing enamel around the edges.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Bazzill Gem Onyx
Patterned paper: Bo Bunny Rose Cafe French Roast, Noteworthy Journal Cards,
Laser cuts swirls: Bo Bunny Clockwork Shapes
Embossing powder: Stampendous aged gold
Flowers: Petaloo Sugared Berry Cluster blue, Petaloo Jeweled Flowers Lavender
Ink: Stazon Silver, Distress Gathered Twigs.
Mist: Shimmerzing Goldie Lox
Masks: Prima Decor
Masking paste: Shimmerz Texturez Sandy Stone
Stamps: Stamper's Anonymous Mixed Media
Other: Prima Resins 572358, Bo Buny Film Sticker, Prima Beads - butter

We have some absolutely beautiful scrapbook projects for you to see today !!

Our kits always include a sketch and this is my take on the sketch.  Pictured is my sweet little Tisha.  She spied her ball on the table and was so cute sneaking up on the table to claim her ball!  The yellow flowers and papers are all from the kit, I added the pink flowers and white lace from my stash and the letters were in last month's kit.  The gorgeous pink roses are Primas and came from the Swirlydoos store.

This is a paper mache card keeper box that came in the technique kit, it was a fun project to do and quite useful.  I'm using it to keep my Christmas cards in but it would also make a great gift box.  I used Modge Podge on all my papers so that papers would wear well.  Everything is from the technique kit.  I did cut the letters and gold Christmas balls (embossed with gold embossing powder) with my Cameo.

I kind of went crazy with the mixed media on this one!  I used a lot of masking paste and mists from my stash, on the background.  I really love the Blue Fern chippy that came in the embellie add on!  I painted mine with moonbeam Silks.

I love these sugared blooms from Petaloo!!

A Trio of Graphic 45 Christmas Tags!

How do you decide which of Graphic 45's beautiful Christmas collections to use?  I solved the problem by using 3 different lines for my trio of tags. That jolly fat man will be here soon and I need some tags to adorn my packages so I've been a busy little elf!

This first tag is made with Nutcracker Sweet from 2012.  I've used a Prima Julie Nutting doll stamps, Merry Nice, to accent my tag.  Then I created a swag of flowers with some small blooms from I Am Roses and Wild Orchid Crafts.  The holly leaves were cut with a Die-namites die and I've added some Lindy's mist and Stickles to dress them up.

This next tag is made with my favorite Graphic 45 Christmas collection; it's from 2013, Twelve Days of Christmas.  I used a 4 x 6 Graphic 45 tag and covered it with paper from the collection and then added a Spellbinder's Gold Majesty Circles diecut and topped that with a chipboard piece, trimmed out with gold braid, from the collection.  Then I added some Christmas greenery, a Petaloo bloom and ribbon, and that's all there is to it.  This one was really quick.

This tag was done with Christmas Emporium from 2011 I think.  First I stenciled on some snowflakes.  Then I cut two Spellbinders rectangle frames.  First I added a gold ribbon down the center of the tag.  I applied some gold embossing powder on the larger frame around the edges. Then I used white embossing powder on the smaller frame.  I layered these two together popping them both up with sticky foam. I added some Petaloo poinsiettas and diecut greenery.  Then a little tag from the collection and a bow.  I think it's nice and festive!

A Christmas dollhouse!

I love dolls and dollhouses!  If I wasn't so wrapped up in my scrap art, I would work on the large dollhouse that I got for Christmas about 10 years ago just before scrapbooking took over my life!  Needless, to say, the dollhouse sits in the corner and is nothing but a shell.  I have furniture and fixtures for it, but I'd rather play with scissors and paper!

Now, this Prima dollhouse is just what I needed.  Its small enough that I could have fun turning it into a Christmas home.  I used Graphic 45's Twelve Days of Christmas for my decor and for Valentina's dresses.  Her Christmas dress is trimmed with Glistening Snow-Tex to mimic white fur.  Of course, Valentina has a poodle!   I've added some Petaloo and Manor House flowers and a vintage seam binding bow to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting Valentina's Christmas house!

Another Swirlydoos November KOM layout.

We had a fun guessing game at Swirlydoos this month.  Everyone on the design team scrapped this photo that was provided to us by Peggy.  It is such a gorgeous gorgeous photo!  The moment I saw it, I wanted to scrap it.  Only 4 of our members were able to match the correct layout with the designer.

All the papers and collectibles on this layout is from the November kit featuring Kaisercraft's Rustic Harmony.  I used a some stamps, masks and Texturez molding paste from my stash on the background.

I really love these Prima flowers that came in the add on!

More creations with the November Swirlydoos Kit Club Beloved Kit

The November kit has been a favorite for me!  I love the color palette of the featured papers, Kaisercraft's Rustic Harmony.  It appeals to my love of vintage scrapping!

This layout features one of my favorite subjects, sometimes not so sweet Tisha!  Peggy and the girls gave Tisha a nickname when they visited me back in September, Me-Me.  Why Me-Me?  Well 'cause in Tisha's mind, it's all about me.  She insists on being the center of attention and will joyfully push poor Noodle out of the way so that she is getting all the petting and treats!

I wanted to add some sparkle to my layout so I dabbled a bit of paint and Stickles on the Kaiseercraft roses that came in the flower add on and then nestled the flowers in a vine from the Swirlydoos Boutique  to create my floral cluster.  This vines are just leaves and are perfect for creating your own cluster.  There are 5 different but similar vines in the store, you really need some of these!  ;-)

These letters came in the embellishment add on and I just inked over them a tad and then outlined the edges with a gold Sharpie pen.

For this layout I used a really vintage photo from my husband's side of the family.  I used some borders from the sticker sheet in the main kit on the edges of my layout and layered some texture from my stash underneath.  I used Art Anthology's Stone Effects in Sandstone to do some stenciling in the background.

The brown flowers are from a previous kit and the others are from my stash.

That's a Creative Embellishments swirl  underneath the photo embossed with Shimmerz EnamelZ Molten Metal embossing powder, both from my stash.

And last, a simple layered card.  I used some Core'dinations cardstock for the card.  Then I layered on the green floral paper that I diecut with a Spellbinder's die, added a tag, a sentiment sticker, a few embellies and all done!

Gift idea! An Altered Prima Birdhouse picture holder.

Hi there all you sweet swirly savages!!  It's a beautiful sunny day here in eastern NC and I've been busy getting ready for the coming holidays,  making gifts and such.  I also like to make things for myself, and here's a project that I recently finished that I did just for me!

This is a Prima birdhouse that I altered using the Swirlydoos Kit Club November kit and a few bits and pieces from my stash.  This is the perfect way to preserve a cherished picture and makes a delightful gift!

Here's a step by step video that I did for Swirlydoos Kit Club on how I altered this.

There are lots of great alterable projects in the store.

Here's a great gift idea for a scrappy friend.  Just imagine how fun it would be to load up all those little bottles and jars of mist, paint, paste, etc onto this set of spinning shelves.

AND, you seriously NEED these gorgeous Prima Winthrop flowers for whatever projects you are working on.  There a 5 different colors in the store.  I am in love with these vines, definitely one of my favorites!!

I created this project for the Swirlydoos Design Team.  If you are not a Swirlydoos Kit Club subscriber, please consider it so that you never miss any of our beautifully coordinated kits.
