Creative Embellishments and my sweet Tisha!

Here’s my very sweet Tisha “driving” the motorhome.  She loves to sit in the driver’s seat and look out the window when we’re not rolling down the road.  There are other windows that she can look out, but for some reason, this is her favorite perch.

I used Junque Gypsy papers from Marion Smith Designs for this layout, love her collections so much!

I used Creative Embellishments Puppy Love word set for my title that I heat embossed with Stampendous Chunky Metallic Seasonings embossing enamel.  Its a new color that I just got and I really like it!  Creative Embellishments has so many great word sets, check them out!

Marion Smith Designs Romance Novel II

I loved the Romance Novel collection so much, it's definitely up there as one of my favorite paper collections.  What could be better?  Romance Novel II of course!!  I love the bold splashes of color along with the vintage styled papers.

This is such happy paper to me!!  I love the pinks and teal greens against the aged parchments and black, its sooooo pretty and perfect for scrapping this vintage photo of my Mom.

The words are also from Creative Embellishments and they are embossed with black embossing powder over gold embossing powder.

 I used a Creative Embellishment Viney Flourish frame that I've heat embossed with Stampendous shabby green embossing enamel.

Altering a plastic lettuce box - video tutorial for Swirlydoos Scrapbook Kit Club

The other day in the Swirlydoos Kit Club forums we were discussing uses for plastic boxes that come from the grocery store with lettuce and such in them.  I've been saving these lettuce boxes for a while now with the plan to alter them and that conversation prompted me to get with it!

This first box I've altered using the Swirlydoos Kit Club August kit of the month, Wistful Blues.   Below is a step by step video tutorial on how I altered this box.  Enjoy!

I want to see what you can do with your plastic boxes.  It really doesn't take long to do these and they are really pretty and unique ways to box your gifts.

Marion Smith Designs and Leaky Shed Studios

I'm hosting a fun challenge at the Flying Unicorn this month, all you have to do is a layout, card, or tag and use pop dots, cardboard, foam, etc to pop up at least 3 different things including one layer!  Easy peasy, and loads of fun.  You could win a fabulous RAK too.  Our challenge winners are chosen by random selection so everyone has an equal chance!

I've used Marion Smith Designs new Garment District papers for this layout and a bit of Mad Tea Party too.  I am so excited to see Marion designing on her own and I have loved every single sheet in the 3 collections she has released.

The beautiful birdcage is a Leaky Shed Designs that I've covered with Stampendous aged ivory embossing powder.  I love the look these powders give to chipboard!

In the next two photos you can see how I've popped up the layers.  I used a thick cardboard box on the first layer and much thinner cardboard on the next layers.  Cardboard is great for popping up your layers as you don't have to worry about sag or using so much foam tape.

Leaky Shed Word Chippies

Take a look at these great word chippies from Leaky Shed and on this layout I've used some from the Family Tree collection, "Families are Forever". I painted the chipboard pieces with Emperor's Gold Silks and then lightly brushed on a little Pink Grapefruit on the chippies and the flowers just to tie everything all together.

I used Marion Smith Designs newest collection, Garment District. It's full of vintage colors and images that I love so much! I even dug out my sewing machine to tie into the collection's title! I stamped here and there with some pink paint and coffee archival ink. If you look closely you can see that I used a doily mask and Lindy's mist.

Another December Kit of the Month project!

Here's another layout that I did with the Flying Unicorn December KOM,  This one features Marion Smith Designs Nirvana collection which is a fave for sure!  I also used some great Leaky Shed corner chipboards pieces around my photo as well as a diecut sizzix frame for the photo.  I love the way the corner pieces just pull your eye right in to the photo and journaling.  I used Stampendous aged gold embossing enamel on the chippies and the frame to make them really stand out! Then I did some stencilingl on the background.
