Cheery Lynn Designs Flower Power Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Cheery Lynn Designs Flower Power Blog Hop!  If you arrived from Amy's Blog you are on the right track. If not, head on back to the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog and start from the beginning so you don't miss seeing any of the amazing design team Flower Power projects.

Cheery Lynn Designs has so many pretty flower dies and I want to share some of them with you today.
These 3 large flowers were all made with the Stacker Flower 5 Die  set.for the petals.  I used different centers to vary the look.  On the cream flowers, I used the Cutie Fringe IV Die which makes the best flower centers.  It diecuts as a long fringed piece that you roll up and then glue to the flower center.  (It helps to use a quilling tool to roll.)  The yellow flower is topped with a cut from the Shasta Daisy 6 Piece Die Set   and then a purchased center.

The large yellow flower was made with  the Sweet Williams Die and the two smaller flowers were made with the Floral Bouquet Kit.  Of course, I needed some greenery with the flowers, so I used two different flourishes beneath my flowers, Flourish #11 Die, and Flourish #7 Die .

Ink your flowers to give them a more realistic appearance.  You can also mix and match the dies.  I used the Sweet Williams Die and the Floral Bouquet Kit to make the flower on the left.  The cream flower has petals from the Floral Bouquet Kit and the center is from the Black Eyed Susan Strip 5 Piece Die set.

Birthday wishes with Cheery Lynn Designs

Step cards are my favorite to make so today I am sharing a step card made with Cheery Lynn's Step Card Bundle Set #4.  This die set really makes step cards easy!  No measuring and cutting with a craft knife!
Here's a view of the card folded up.  I layered up two doiles and topped that with our Birthday Wishes Circle Die.

You know how much I love flowers and of course I had to add one to this card.  I used  Judy's Blooms Die to make this simple flower.  Just diecut 2 large blooms and one small bloom, give the petals a little shape with a stylus and stack and glue them up.  Top with a center and that's it!

We have some absolutely beautiful scrapbook projects for you to see today !!

The first layout I'd like to share with you today is my mixed media mayhem layout as I call it.  I had lots of fun with this, I just played with wild abandon!  All those coll white drips and splotches were done with an Art Anthology mask that came in the mediums add on; I love this mask!!    I also love the chicken wire that came in the embellishments kit!  You know chicken wire is a swirlygals staple!  The small gray flowers are from the flower add on and the others are from my stash as are the metal embellies you see.  At the top you see some mesh, that is in the main kit and its a really fun thing to use on this kind of layout!

Chicken wire from the embellie kit, orange flowers and metal leaves from my stash, gray flowers from the flower add on.

Under the title is a small kraft  tag that came in the main kit!

This is the layout that I did with this month's sketch and it's also the Anatomy layout.  Be sure to check out my build a page tutorial in the Anatomy of a layout forum.

I really love Petaloo's Botanica line of flowers and these gray ones came in the main kit!  I diecut the blue roses and hand rolled them.  The die I used is from La La Land crafts.

I love this photo of my Mom and my great nephew, its such a great photo of both of them.  I painted the background paper with watered down white gesso to dull the color a bit.  The chipboard pieces came in the Embellie kit and I cut them up to better fit my layout.  I did some random stamping around the edges with stamps from my stash and the title chippy is also from my stash.  I heat embossed all the chippies with Stampendous aged white embossing enamel.

The flower add on has some giant flowers from David Tutero so I wanted to do something that really showed off these gorgeous blooms!  This is a round box that I got at Hobby Lobby, it's about 9" tall and 13" in circumference.  I covered the box with paper and added a bit of masking just to give it a shabby appearance.  Then I added some of the bling around the lid and used some of the dangling beads that came in the main kit to embellish.  I added a few silk leaves from my stash, and BAM!  All done, this was a really quick fun project!

You have until midnight, eastern time, February 13th to complete the hop. Winners will be announced on the Swirlydoos Blog on 2/16.  In order to qualify to win here is what you need to do:

More creations with the November Swirlydoos Kit Club Beloved Kit

The November kit has been a favorite for me!  I love the color palette of the featured papers, Kaisercraft's Rustic Harmony.  It appeals to my love of vintage scrapping!

This layout features one of my favorite subjects, sometimes not so sweet Tisha!  Peggy and the girls gave Tisha a nickname when they visited me back in September, Me-Me.  Why Me-Me?  Well 'cause in Tisha's mind, it's all about me.  She insists on being the center of attention and will joyfully push poor Noodle out of the way so that she is getting all the petting and treats!

I wanted to add some sparkle to my layout so I dabbled a bit of paint and Stickles on the Kaiseercraft roses that came in the flower add on and then nestled the flowers in a vine from the Swirlydoos Boutique  to create my floral cluster.  This vines are just leaves and are perfect for creating your own cluster.  There are 5 different but similar vines in the store, you really need some of these!  ;-)

These letters came in the embellishment add on and I just inked over them a tad and then outlined the edges with a gold Sharpie pen.

For this layout I used a really vintage photo from my husband's side of the family.  I used some borders from the sticker sheet in the main kit on the edges of my layout and layered some texture from my stash underneath.  I used Art Anthology's Stone Effects in Sandstone to do some stenciling in the background.

The brown flowers are from a previous kit and the others are from my stash.

That's a Creative Embellishments swirl  underneath the photo embossed with Shimmerz EnamelZ Molten Metal embossing powder, both from my stash.

And last, a simple layered card.  I used some Core'dinations cardstock for the card.  Then I layered on the green floral paper that I diecut with a Spellbinder's die, added a tag, a sentiment sticker, a few embellies and all done!

Mojo Monday sketch at the Flying Unicorn!

Every Monday we have a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge designed to jump start your creativity! And you could win a gift certificate to the Flying Unicorn store just by entering your take on the sketch in our challenge!

This week's inspiration comes from Alda and it's perfect for your holiday photos. You could use the non traditional colors of her sketch or go with traditional Christmas colors as I have done.  And you could also do a non Christmas interpretation of the sketch!

I flipped the sketch from left to right and used Kaisercraft's St Nicholas collection which has a paper with the Christmas balls printed right on the paper; that sure works well with my sketch!

BIG SALE!! Kaisercraft St Nicholas collection now in stock!

Don't miss the big sale happening now at the Flying Unicorn!!

We now have Kaisercraft's St. Nicholas collection in the store and right now you can buy it at 30% off as well everything in the store! Also, be sure to check out our new Inspiring Your Art feature where we've assembled a line of products that pair beautifully with our new paper collections

I really love this collection with its old world Santa images and rich Christmas colors.  The photo I used was taken in Verdun, France in 1952 or 1953.  The little girl was our landlord's daughter.  The Petaloo Textured blooms really go nicely with this paper too!

I used Leaky Shed's fancy keyholes above and below the photo to add some old world charm.  Have you ever use cream rubons?  Craf-t Products Kit #2 is a cool collection of metallic cream rubons and that's what I used to color the chipboard.  Its a fun product that easily washes off your fingers and I love that about it!

Kaisercraft Curiosity now available at the Flying Unicorn!

Oh this paper has my name all over it!!  I love rich reds and vintage greens with touches of black.  It is such gorgeous paper!!  I made flowers to go with the page, see my poppy tutorial here.

Lots of fussy cutting, the flowers and the bird.  I also used Prima's Finnabair Lace Doily to mask the large diecut doily.  I wanted to tone down it's bright white color.

"Happiness" is a Prima Wood Icon word, available in the store.  I think they're a great deal as you get 36 words in a box for a very reasonable price.  First I embossed it with the new Ranger Embossing Antiquities Verdigris.  That was pretty but I decided I wanted it to be black so I embossed over top of that with Ranger Embossing puffs.  Love this look, it has texture and is a dull black rather than being glossy, perfect for vintage styling!  Be sure and take a look at these in the store, there are some really pretty colors. The Antiquities are somewhat like the Stampendous aged powders but they dry with a grainy texture and a finer color. LOVE THEM!
