A gift and banner for Mom with Petaloo.

What better way to honor your Mom than to make her a pretty banner?  I'm going to cook my Mom's favorite meal for her on Mother's Day and I'll use this banner to honor her spot at the table.
I used some Alpha Banner tags from Graphic 45 to make this.  You could use plain tags and add letters.  Of course, you'll need to dress the tags up with lots of pretty Petaloo blooms!

But wait, this is a gift too!  Each of the tags has a pocket on the backside so that you can tuck in some gift cards, movie tickets, whatever your Mom likes.

Or, you could just use this banner as a topper for a wrapped gift. I think it would look so pretty on plain white paper.

Fussy cut elements always gives a tag a fun look and look so great when tucked in with some blooms.

My Mom was an incredible seamstress so the little pair of scissors is a perfect embellie for her!

A multi-pic layout with Graphic 45 Worlds Fair

Multi-pic layouts can be challenging as it's harder to be "artistic" when you have a lot of photos on your page, but certainly not impossible, and really, sometimes it's all about the memories right?  With lots of layers,  some fussy cut elements, and a few flowers, you can still make a great layout, tell a story and preserve your memories all at the same time!

In 2010 my husband and I were lucky enough to be campground hosts at Denali National Park in Alaska.  What a great way to spend the summer and what a grand adventure it was for us!  I thought the beautiful vintage colors of World's Fair went so nicely with our photos that we took at Polychrome Pass.  It is so named because of the rainbow of vivid colors you can see from the Pass, not to mention the occasional bear that strolls through the parking lot.  Yep, there I was following this big grizzly bear around trying to get a National Geographic kinda photo.  What was I thinking?? ☺ And I didn't get any National Geographic photos either 'cause my hands were shaking too bad!

Tip:  Embellish your photo heavy pages with fussy cut elements and use lots of layers underneath your photos to give your layout a lot of WOW factor and pop.

Mothere's Day card with Graphic 45 Time to Flourish

It's time to make Mother's Day cards so today I have an card idea for you.  I've combined March and April papers from the Time to Flourish collection along with a little pink paper from Gilded Lily.  Some fussy cutting, a couple of layers, and voilĂ , you have a pretty card for Mom.

Are you wondering how I got the sentiment on the cut apart so nice and straight?   I printed it on a transparency and then glued it to the cut apart.  Works fabulously!  Be sure to use just a few dabs of clear drying glue to attach it and don't put glue on any of the printed words because the glue will cause the print to smear.

Creative Embellishments now has stencils!

Did you know that Creative Embellishments now carries stencils?  Nope Tisha didn't walk across my layout .  That's the new Muddy Paws mask stenciled onto  Petaloo burlap.  I love how it looks on the burlap and goes so well with my title of Paw Prints that are Creative Embellishments words heat embossed with Stampendous Aged Rose embossing enamel.

I used papers from two different Lemoncraft collections, House of roses and Never Ending Summer from the Flying Unicorn Store.  Their papers are so pretty and such a nice weight.  Keep an eye on the Flying Unicorn Store for their new collections.

I stained a pretty flourish and used it underneath my Petaloo cluster.  I tucked in a couple of Conversation Hearts, aren't they so cute?

Graphic 45's City Scapes Collection

I am so over the moon excited that I get to spend another year on the Graphic 45 design team!  It is definitely a dream come true to work with all their wonderful products.

Today I want to share a layout done with Graphic 45's new City Scapes collection.  This is a photo of my parents taken shortly after my Dad returned from Paris and WW II  so I chose  to use the Eiffel Tower cut-apart for that reason.  The city names all around the border represent many of the places that my family traveled with Dad and the stamp paper represents the many letters he wrote to my Mom when he was posted to places where she could not accompany him.  I love it when I can include symbolism in my layouts that have special meaning to me.

The City Scapes collection is currently available at the Flying Unicorn Store

I used two different Creative Embellishments flourishes with my Petaloo flowers.  I misted them with Lindy's mist for an antique look.  The title is heat embossed with Stampendous aged embossing enamel in aged spice.
