Time to get your Steampunk on with Creative Embellishments

What could be more perfect than Creative Embellishment's fabulous Steampunk chippies paired with G45 Steampunk Debutante on a Tim Holtz Assemblage clock?  I went seriously crazy with mists and embossing powders to create this Steampunk piece.  The image is from Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante.
Steampunk altered clock

A quick and easy way to really make your chippies stand out is emboss them with embossing powder.  I embossed the gears with Stampendous aged gold emboxing enamel and the feathers with aged copper.  I used a metal flower and then dabbed on some embossing powder in aged gold and aged copper.  Love that aged copper!

I started with a black satin ribbon and dabbed mist on it to give it the multi colored sparkly look.  The roses are black that I sprayed with Lindy's Glitz Spritz Royal Emerald Fire.

I used different sized gears from these sets:

Christmas is coming and it's time to get those cards done!

I like to make a few special Christmas cards for my friends that I know will appreciate a handmade card.   This one is an easel card and I've filmed a video to show you how easy these cards are to make.  As usual, I've used a lot of diecuts on my card, if you don't have similar dies, you can substitute basic square or rectangle shapes.

Tip:  You can create this card and many others simply by purchasing just the Graphic 45 Ephemera Cards and the 6 x 6 Patterns and Solids pad along with any cardstock.  The best thing is that the images in the Ephemera Cards give you a quick, but pretty card front.   Embellish with hand made flowers or a bit of ribbon and you've got all you need for a set of cards.

The Merry Christmas sentiment is Creative Embellishments chipboard that I've heat embossed with Stampendous shabby white embossing enamel.  I love that the font matches that used in the Christmas Carol collection!

November challenge at Creative Embellishments

This is the inspiration  photo for the Creative Embellishments November challenge.    One lucky person will win a $50 gift certificate to the Creative Embellishments store!  One thing is for certain, if you don't enter, you can't win! We award our prizes on a random basis so everyone has a chance to win.  Hope to see your entry this month!

The photo this month makes me think of fall, crisp mornings  and clear sunny days so of course I did a fall themed tag with a little window that opens where I can write a sentiment.  I used Graphic 45's Botanicabella that was recently re-released as a Deluxe Collector's Edition.  It is really a perfect collection for fall themed projects.

Mushrooms fascinate me so I let them take center stage on my tag.  I used our Wood Veneer Mushrooms in my cluster at the bottom along with some leaves from our  wood veneer Fall Leaves (set of 16).  I lightly misted the mushrooms with Lindy's Creme Brulee Cream and colored the leaves with Lindy's Gator Gumbo Olive mist and then touched on a little Lindy's Autmn Maple Crimson mist.

I used a Your Next Die Peek-a-Boo Door die to cut the the scalloped circle with the opening flap.  I'll write a sentiment inside so that my tag can serve as both a card and a tag!

The twist this month is to us a flourish, so I used our Flourish 17,  colored with Lindy's Gator Gumbo Olive mist, to anchor my cluster at the top, along with a wood veneer mushroom.

I hope you'll join in our challenge this month!  That photo has to inspire you to create something pretty with the lovely fall colors we enjoy this time of year!

Thanks so much for visiting, hope to see your entry linked up in our November challenge!

Graphic 45's Christmas Carol Tags

Here's a twist on the tag; group 3 of them together as a wall hanging!  I used 3 tags from the G45 Staples Large Tag Album and Christmas Carol cut-aparts to create my grouping.   I tied 3 bows all from the same ribbon and used the same flowers on all the tags to give them a cohesive look.   I also built up the tags with layers of paper popped up with foam tape and cardboard.  Of course, you could also use these tags to dress up a simply wrapped package.

For me, the tag is just a base to build on and I almost always have things hanging off the bottom and sides.  Next time you're building a tag, try this.  Take a Staples Key Hole and glue something small to it and attach to the bottom of your tag.  I did that with the oval Merry Christmas piece and I think it looks great.  It changes the rectangular shape of the tag.

A Cornucopia full of sunflowers with Graphic 45!

I love sunflowers!  I love how their faces follow the sun throughout the day and love that they provide food for the birds.  It makes me happy to gaze out my window and see a bird clinging to the blossom and plucking seeds from the head.

I wanted to make a fall centerpiece honoring this favorite flower of mine that is so predominantly featured in Graphic 45's French Country collection.  When I found this sweet little cornucopia basket,  that knew that it would be perfect filled with sunflowers and raffia.  I fussy cut a rooster and sunflowers from the French Country collection and layered them in my basket along with a silk sunflower and some raffia.  I love the result, it is perfect for fall and you know, Thanksgiving will be here before you know it.

When you have fussy cut images that will show from the back like my rooster, paint the back a solid color so that it will blend in. I painted the back of the rooster black and that blends in with the arrangement better than the pattern that was on the back.

Supplies:

Abundance
Botanicabella Deluxe Collector's Edition - Botanicabella

Other:
