All the papers I have used are from the Ladies Dairy collection. I did this as inspiration for a a challenge that Tammy has going on, to use 2 different border cuts and handmade flowers on a layout and a butterfly. You can see my tiny butterfly at the top of the stickpin I made.
I diecut the flowers from the Alterations Tattered Floral die using Tim Holtz's glassine paper and I confess, it is one of my favorite things, I use it all the time on vintage layouts. I brushed bronze Perfect Pearls powder on my flowers and then heat set with my heat gun to give them so sparkle, you can see in especially in the bottom photo.
Journal: My Mother, and her oldest sister, Elsie. It was a different time in 1942. As I rummage through old photographs that my Mother has handed down to me, I am always fascinated by the styles of that era. I love how pretty they always look in their tailored clothing, their hair fixed just so, they look so perfectly groomed. Look at the pleats and tucks on their coats. They do have on sensible shoes, perhaps they were on their way to work. Mom worked as a nurse’s aide at Doctor’s Hospital in Washington , D.C.
