1/2 of the "Bark" , Chili, is not well today so we are off to the vets in just a few minutes.  My poor little princess is in pain.  She yelped when standing up this am.  I have a feeling she has some sort of blockage internally.  She hasn't missed any meals, but then she never does.  Cross your fingers for her; I hope its nothing serious.

  1. Home from the vet. Seems that Chili most likely is having some issues with her neck so we are treating with cortisone. That pain has caused a secondary problem - constipation. So one doggie enema later (Is that TMI??) and a cortisone shot and she is already feeling better. Thank goodness, I just can't stand it when my spoos aren't feeling well.

  2. Poor girl! I'm so glad she's on the mend! It is possibly harder for us than it is for them but it's hard when they are less than their shining selves!

  3. Thanks Sherry. Unfortunately I had to take her back in today as she was in even more pain today than yesterday. So they X-rayed her neck but didn't see anything definitive and gave her a powerful pain shot and some pain pills in addition to the prednisone and muscle relaxer she is on. The pain shot helped alot, by the time we got home she was already acting differently. So now I have her closed up in the BR to keep her quiet. Hopefully the prednisone will do the trick 'cause the next thing to do is see a specialist and do a CT scan and I don't even want to think about how much that will cost. Next animal I get, I will have pet insurance!!

  5. Thanks Pam. Dh is fine and back to normal.

Chili is hanging tough I guess. She has been in alot of pain but I think she is a little better this afternoon. She actually picked up her "Grizzy", a mostly unstuffed, stuffy and took it with her. That's a good sign as she hasn't touched a toy in a couple of days and typically she will pick one up and lay around with it.
