Journal from Eileen Hull Designs Vault Release

This awesome mini is part of the Sizzix Eileen Hull May Vault Release in the UK and June in the US.  It's perfectly sized at 3 5/8" x 5" to carry in your purse and use as a journal to record notes, thoughts, etc.

Look at the buttons on the spine. They are sewn onto the spine as part of the elastic bands that bind in the signatures. I used thin, .8mm, elastic thread so that it would thread through the button's holes. I threaded it through each button hole creating two elastic bands and tied it off inside the cover.

Instead of making signatures, I purchased a ruled notebook and adhered design paper to the notebook's covers.  That helps make this a really quick and useful project!  I used another of Eileen's dies to cut a little pocket to hold misc "stuff" like reciepts.

On the left inside cover, I placed a Journaling Card Envelope and made a closure with string and brads.  If you put the brads in loosely, it's easy to wrap the string around them.  The envelope is a great place to put things that you don't want to get lost.

There are two more dies being released from the vault so be sure to watch for those.  AND, therea re some new products too!  Woo hoo!

Notebook Die from Eileen Hull Designs by Sizzix

I love this Notebook die that was part of a Sizzix Eileen Hull vault release.  It makes such a cute little mini or journal and it fits right inside the Treasure Box (also released this month).

When I make minis, I always cover my matboard with either design paper or plain cardstock before die-cutting.  Then I glue on ribbons to use as ties before embellishing the front and back covers.

I have a ton of photos to share with you of all the inside pages so make yourself comfortable!

Before I show you the inside, take a look at the buttons on the spine.  I used them to attach the elastic bands that bind in the signatures.  I used thin, .8mm, elastic thread so that it would thread through the button's holes.  I threaded it through each button hole creating two elastic bands and tied it off inside the cover.

Inside front cover and front page of 1st signature.

On the left side are two flip pages and on the right is a Faux Postage die-cut (from March 2024 release) and a Library Pocket die-cut.

Inner flap opened.

On the left is a die cut folder and on the right is a pocket made using the Mini-Book die.

A Graphic 45 Journal Card makes the center page.

On the left another pocket made with the Mini-Book die and on the right a die-cut envelope.

On the left a page that flips up and on the right a die-cut page pocket.

Front page of the 2nd signature.

On the left flip pages for photos and on the right a photo mat.

Another page pocket on the left.

Journal card used for the center page.

Photo mat on the left and just pretty colored embellishments on the right.

Two simple pages for photos.

More flip pages.

Back of 2nd signature and inside back cover.

I used a lot of Eileen's dies when making this mini and you can see how so many of her dies work together to enhance your projects.

Here's a link where I used the Treasure Box to hold 3 of these Notebooks.

Coming Soon, Another Fabulous Vault Release from Eileen Hull Designs by Sizzix

I love that Sizzix is re-releasing 3 more much loved dies from Eileen's past collections.   They are releasing in May in the UK and here June, here in the USA.  I have a peek at these dies for you today.

The great thing about these dies is that they all work together.  The Stacking Drawers fit inside the Treasure Box (as shown in the photo) or stand alone.  The Notebook is just the right size to fit inside the Treasure Box too!

I made a set all from the same Graphic 45 paper collection, Come One, Come All.  It was a dreary day and I needed some color in my life!

Here's a closer look at the Treasure Box.  I added a little handle to the front and the usual flowers, of course! I'll have a tutorial showing how to make this and the stacking drawers next month.

Stacking drawers with little hardware pulls.  I think these are something Tim Holtz came out with a while ago.

And finally, this adorable mini album.  I'll be showing this in detail next week here on my blog.
Thanks for joining me today!  Be sure to stop by Eileen's blog to see some more great designs the Team!
